To comprehend the Modern Movement and to develop a holistic and more inclusive perspective on the spatial, ideological and aesthetic aspects of modern living culture, there is a great need for work on interior spaces. Thus, "docomomo_tr Interior Design Committee" was established in 2019 under the docomomo_tr working group.

The modern interior presents a multi-dimensional and multi-disciplinary problem area for a better understanding of the social, cultural, artistic, aesthetic, and ideological aspects of the modern movement in Türkiye. The appreciation, understanding, and preservation of the value of the modern interior can only be achieved through in-depth research and comprehensive discussions. The Modern Interiors in Türkiye Symposium IV aims to create a sharing environment for current research conducted in this field.
